This is something between a pancake and a pizza. It's soooooo good. 1/2" thick, 6" diameter patties of veggies and meats, mixed in a rice flour paste and cheese.
- 1 cup okonomiyaki flour (4 oz)
- 3/4 cup water
- shredded cabbage
- 2 pcs green onion (or white onion)
- 2 eggs
- 9 pcs sliced pork belly
Prep
- mix okonomi-yaki flour and water in a large bowl until flour fully dissolves
- add cabbage, onion, mochi, and eggs and combine gently
Cook
- place oil in medium size skillet (we use an electric griddle) on medium-low heat. Divide mixture into three sections and shape each portion into a 1/2" thick patty. Place patties in skillet and layer pork belly on top. Cook abour 3 minutes until the bottom browns
- flip the patty and cook about 4 minutes
- flip patty once more and cook about 2-3 more minutes
Serve
- drizzle Okonomi sauce
- then Kewpie (cue-pea) mayonaisse
- then Okaka aka Katsuobushi
- Aonori (a-wa-no-ri)
