Pirate punch

This is great if you're going to a picnic, or Mardi Gras, and want frozen drinks. It will thaw to slush by lunch and keep the rest of your food cold.

• 1 c sugar
• 1 c water
• 1 large can of pineapple juice
• One 2-liter of 7-up
• 1 can frozen oj
• 1 jar of marachino cherries
• 1 fifth rum

If you plan to serve at home, hold the cherries out, freeze overnight, then transfer to the fridge a few hours before serving. Re-blend in a blender to chop up the ice crystals (otherwise they can be a bit sharp). Add the cherries after blending.
