Green beans almandine

However many green beans you'd normally eat.

Steam the green beans. Err on the side of a little underdone.

In a pan that will be large enough to accomodate the green beans, melt butter over medium heat. When the butter starts to brown, add enough sliced almonds to mostly cover the bottom with some slices overlapping. Watch them closely and turn at least once. I prefer to stir them by shaking the pan. As they start to brown ever so slightly, add the green beans and reheat them. Stir occasionally. Let them brown and wrinkle just a little. Serve hot.
